Ah, the old issue of flash vs Apple. I personally feel as if Steve Jobs is having a conversation with the world:

World: "Sweet work, Steve, will the new devices be able to run flash?"
Jobs: "Nah, flash is old hat now."
World: "...no, no it isn't. We all use it all the time."
Jobs: "Not anymore, you use HTML5 now!"
World: "...uh, that's not true, Steve, we use flash a lot for our daily activ-"
Jobs: "I said you use HTML5 now."

I suppose we shall adapt. In the meantime, you're right. It's quite an inconvenience.

Jas,

Personally, I still think you did a great job with that ad! And it's great that not only are your friends who worked on it taking off nicely with their business, but that means your voice is as well--and rightly so! I look forward to hopefully hearing your voice on more television commercials as well; it adds a whole other element to your range. Great shout out to Kris and Chris, and lastly, thank you for the shout out to me as well! I've had a great mentor the past year and a half, that's for sure :)

Great job, Jas! I really liked the subtle touches as well, such as how you said "Red Bull." It had the slightest hint of a "I don't drink this, it's what the kids are doing" feel to it--hard to explain, but really added a lot. And the Harley ad as well, very nicely done. It was deadpan enough to be almost a "warning" message, without sounding at all boring. Excellent job, and I look forward to hearing more character reads in the future!!

Since when did Sean Connery play Indiana Jones? Cos that ad looks more like Indy than Bond or anything Connery is noted for.

And I have heard far worse Connery voices. Far, far, far worse.

Nice work, Jas. You do a snooty professor very well, I recommend you try to keep it up through the first class you teach next semester and see what kind of "Is this guy for real?" looks you get from your students ;)

I couldn't agree more; a very well written, creative piece that's warm and friendly without being cheesy. And I've got to say, you did a GREAT job voicing it! I would say that you nailed the angle they were going for, and really created almost a character read without the need for any real "characters." Well done, Jason--it sounded great!
